"We are so pleased that Stephanie designed our home. People who visit our home often comment that it has a special feel to it, and so many things contribute to that, from the various ceiling heights, to the design of the cabinetry, wainscot and moldings, to the use of different shapes and sizes of windows. The house complements and blends into the coastal area in which we live, in a very thoughtful and artistic way.

Stephanie listened to all of our concerns about designing a home that would work well to meet the needs of our family while we had young children, but that would also work for us as we grew into our retirement years. In our situation, there were very strict building guidelines that had to be enforced in terms of setbacks and height restrictions because the lot was part of a biological preserve. Yet we needed to build a home large enough to meet our needs. Stephanie was very clever in finding a way to build an upstairs office for us while still meeting the 17 ft. height restriction. She also worked diligently to set the house far enough back from the lot line so that we could still have an outdoor patio facing the ocean while still also ensuring that we did not violate any aspect of the biological easement.

One of the most important things to us was that the house be designed in such a way as to take full advantage of the ocean view. Stephanie achieved this in a spectacular way with many floor to ceiling windows that are used in a way that make you feel like you are standing outside, yet doesn't overpower with the use of too much glass.
Stephanie took extra care to make sure the interior of the house would not become too dark. We are amazed by her design which allowed light to come in from an interior bathroom skylight, and then continue on through an opening between the bathroom to an interior hallway. Not only does this part of the house not seem dark, but we sometimes think the lights are on when they're not, just because of this clever use of natural light.

Overall, Stephanie created a house for us that is amazing both on the outside and the inside. She put an enormous amount of time and energy into all aspects of the design and we continue to be amazed with the results. We are very glad we chose her to be our architect."
